Larry Probst is extremely brave for speaking up and taking action to expose the truth within the KC-St Joe diocese. This is not any easy thing to do.

Hopefully any others who have knowledge, may have suffered, or been harmed by anyone in this diocese will also speak up and contact the police. The full truth needs to be exposed in order to get the abuse of power stopped and so that others can be safe.

Ellen:

First, it sounds like you had a really bad experience with the medical community during your accident. I am very sorry to hear that, because I have represented hundreds of people during my 24 years as a lawyer, who have had better experiences.

I will concede that there are chiropractors (and other doctors) who are making a lot of money off our PIP system. They are doing so by over-billing and over-treating. They drop people when the PIP runs out.

But thankfully, they are in the minority. The majority of providers do not over-bill, over-treat, or stop seeing their patients once PIP has exhausted. They work hard to help people feel better.

As to the issue of the amount charged by the medical provider, it is important to understand that under current PIP laws, doctors do have limitations on the amount they are allowed to charge. In addition, the main reason medical providers charge more in an auto case than when you see them under you health insurance is because they are under contract with the health insurance carrier to charge less for their services. Under the contract, they agree to charge less because the insurance company has agreed to provide all of its members with the name of the doctor, to provide the doctor with clients – their insureds.

It’s important to understand that one of the problems with this bill is that is forces anyone injured in an auto accident to receive their initial medical care at the most expensive place for medical treatment, the emergency room.

It doesn’t matter if they have a family physician whom they have gone to for years who knows their medical history and whom they trust. It doesn’t matter if they have seen a chiropractor for years (not because of an accident, but for other reasons) and want to go to the doctor who is most familiar with the condition of their neck and back.

None of that matters under this bill.

What about the all the chiropractors who are making it rich under PIP, and deceiving the clients??? Then they drop you like a brick when your PIP runs out!! Sorry, although I believe that some chiropractic is helpful, I don't believe that they should be a first stop shop either! What happens when they treat you all up, and then you find out that you need an MRI for a herniated disc, but the chiropractor has OVERCHARGED legally, of course, for those three times a week "treatments". You know what happens??? Sorry Charlie.
Why do places like doctors, chiro's massage therapists, etc., get to charge more because it is a car accident?? All that money these people pay into PIP for years and years, and everyone, including the insurance company wants a piece of it. It is meant for people to get treatment, not gouge and leave them helpless. I know, I've been there.

Strange things happen in New England that give many people substantial doubt that things are getting better:
04 JANUARY 2012
On 10th Anniversary of Boston Archdiocese settlement: Is U.S. Magistrate Judge Landya B. McCafferty embroiled in yet another recusal ethics issue with the Catholic Diocese and her husband in Ryan v. Krause?

At some point, isn't it irresponsible to leave your child alone with a Catholic priest, and shouldn't it be illegal for parents to do so?

Finally a judge who is able to see a clear picture and know the truth about Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua.

Bevilacqua has enabled and empowered so many children to be sexually abused by child predators, the full truth needs to be exposed, so that these church officials can be held accountable for covering up sex crimes against kids.
This is the only true way to get this abuse stopped, so that children can be safe.

The pill problem in our area is out of control. Many addicts just walk into these pill mills with their MRIs and cash and walk out with a script. They then take the script next door to the pharmacy which is owned by the pain clinic, and again pay cash. Something drastic needs to be done. If Florida has the biggest problem in the US - what are the other states doing that do not earn them this distinction?

And it also shows that ultimately, the law can't protect you the way it should as long as special interests like the Catholic church fight hard enough to let child rapists get away with their crimes.

In this case, the lesson is that parents should keep their kids away from Catholic priests.

The cases are very different. The Penn State case, so far, is one pedophile and a bunch of cowards that didn't do anything about him. They should all go to jail.

The Catholic church case is much more evil and illegal. It involves

- thousands of priests (in the U.S. alone)
- bishops knowingly, willfully moving guilty ones
- bishops lying to everyone about it

and a conspiracy of many thousands more priests who knew it was happening and did nothing. The FBI should investigate them using RICO statutes, except that 50 million Catholics in the U.S. would make a political stink against anyone who tried, so no prosecutor would have the guts to prosecute.

It takes a village to rape a child. That part is true at Penn State and in the Catholic church.

Penn State did it with one guy. The Catholic church did it with 5,000 pedophile priests (as they admitted in their own John Jay 2002 report).
