Sam Newman grew up in St. Petersburg, Florida where he attended Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, Florida. Following high school, Sam spent four and a half years in the U.S. Navy, including a tour of duty in Vietnam on river patrol boats. Upon discharge from the Navy, Sam attended Tallahassee Community College in Tallahassee, Florida. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida (Tampa, Florida) where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science Education. Sam received his law degree from Florida State University College of Law in December of 1975, and was admitted to the Florida Bar to practice law in July of 1976.

Sam began his legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Bradenton, Florida. There he prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony criminal cases. For the past thirty-one (31) years, Sam has been practicing as a plaintiff’s personal injury attorney throughout the state of Florida, primarily in Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, Sarasota, Hillsborough, Polk, Hernando, Citrus and Orange counties. Sam has tried numerous jury trials throughout Florida. In 1988 he earned the distinction as a Florida Bar Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer. He has also received an AV rating, the highest peer review rating awarded, in the Martindale-Hubbell National Legal Directory. Sam is also licensed to practice before the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
